Welcome to Lowered Standards! My passion for cars isn't new—it's been a core part of my life for years. As a member of a car club in the early 2000s, I spent countless hours working on vehicles of every kind, and I can honestly say I've seen it all. Today, I'm channeling that deep-seated experience into a business with a purpose.

As a university student pursuing a Computer Engineering degree, I created Lowered Standards to provide an exceptional service to the community and to help fund my college education. When you trust me with your vehicle, you're not just getting expert work; you're supporting a local business and a student's dream.

What areas do you service?

We are based in San Antonio, Texas, and currently service the surrounding Bexar County area. If you're unsure if you're within our service range, please contact us before booking.

How do I book an appointment?

All appointments are scheduled through the booking form on our website. To secure your appointment time, we require a non-refundable deposit, which is applied to your final bill. Your appointment is confirmed once the deposit is paid.

What types of cars do you work on?

We specialize in most gasoline-powered cars and light trucks from American and Japanese manufacturers (e.g., Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Toyota, Honda, Nissan). We do not service heavy-duty diesel trucks or certain European luxury brands at this time.

Are there any jobs you won't do?

Yes. For the safety of our technicians, we must decline jobs on vehicles with severe structural rust or in unsafe working environments (e.g., on the side of a highway or on unstable ground). Please ensure you can provide a safe, level workspace.

Can I provide my own parts?

Yes, you may provide your own parts. However, please be aware that we offer absolutely no warranty on the repair or labor when parts are supplied by the customer. You are responsible for ensuring the part is correct and not defective.

Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?

Yes! We proudly offer a 90-day warranty on all parts that we supply and on our labor for that specific repair. This gives you peace of mind that the job is done right.

How does payment work?

We collect a non-refundable deposit via Stripe to confirm your booking. After the job is completed, we will send you a final invoice for the remaining balance, which can also be paid securely through Stripe.
